Water Safety
Introduction
Safety has become an increasing issue in sport and in our daily lives. Bideford Amateur Rowing Club takes Health and Safety very seriously and works hard to implement health and safety standards to its coaches and members.
Club Responsibilities
Bideford Amateur Rowing Club has a responsibility for the safety of their members and for the development of a culture of safety in all activities associated with rowing. The primary responsibility for ensuring safe practice within a club lies with the Club Officials and the Club Committee or Rowing Sub Committee. The Club Committee or Rowing Sub Committee appoints a specific individual as a Club Safety Adviser to take the lead in promoting safe practices and development risk assessments and a club safety plan, but such an appointment does not remove the accountability for safety from the Officers and Committee members. In this respect, every member of a club has an important part to play.
